Frequently asked questions

How long does a tooth whitening appointment take?

Most whitening visits run comfortably within a single appointment. We talk through your goals first, prepare and protect the gums, then work through the whitening in gentle stages so you stay comfortable the whole time. Because the studio is appointment-only, your session is unhurried and the room is yours alone.

Is professional tooth whitening safe for my enamel?

When it is done carefully and the gums are properly protected, whitening is a well established cosmetic treatment. We keep the process considered rather than aggressive, check in with you throughout, and never push a result your teeth are not comfortable reaching. If anything about your teeth suggests we should slow down, we will.

What exactly is a tooth gem?

A tooth gem is a small crystal or accent applied to the surface of a tooth for a subtle sparkle or a statement finish. Placement is precise and non-invasive, and it is designed to sit neatly without changing how your teeth feel day to day. We help you choose a size and position that suits your smile rather than overwhelms it.

How long do tooth gems last?

With careful placement and sensible aftercare, a tooth gem can stay put for a good while, though it is not intended to be permanent. Everyday habits play a part, and we will walk you through what helps a gem last. If one ever comes away, it is a simple thing to have looked at and reset.

Do tooth gems or whitening damage the tooth?

Our aim is a result that looks beautiful and leaves your tooth as we found it. Gem placement is designed to be reversible and gentle, and whitening is carried out with the enamel and gums protected. We would always rather take a considered, conservative approach than chase a dramatic result at the expense of your teeth.

How white will my teeth actually get?

Everyone starts from a different shade, so the honest answer is that results vary. We look at your teeth first and give you a realistic sense of what a session can achieve for you specifically, rather than promising a single fixed outcome. The goal is a brighter, natural looking smile that still looks like yours.

How do I book, and do you take walk-ins?

Medusa Studio is private and appointment-only, so every visit is booked ahead. You can reach us through the booking form on this site or by phone, and we will find a time that gives your treatment the space it deserves. Booking ahead is also how we keep each appointment calm and one-to-one.

How should I care for my teeth after a visit?

For the first day or two after whitening it helps to go easy on strongly coloured food and drink while the result settles. With a fresh tooth gem, gentle brushing and a little care around the placement go a long way. We send you off with clear, simple aftercare so keeping your result is genuinely easy.
